Kid Congo on the Decks Tonight in NYC

plz kid

Tonight in New York City, former resident and my LA homeboy Kid Congo Powers will be manning the turntables at the Motor City Bar on the Lower East Side - 127 Ludlow Street.

Its a New York Night Train night at the bar, but NYNT founder is, as Kid says, "galavanting around the country with a big box of old soul 45's on tour! I will be bringing a suitcase full of soul and garage records I have been picking up down south here in Washington DC and bringing them to NYC for a night of Sophisticated Boom Boom at the Motor City bar at 127 Ludlow St , between the streets of Rivington and Delancy and between the hours of 10pm and 4am for the very fair price of FREE! Show up, twist your wig, and say hi!"

How could you refuse?

kid plz

All these photos of Kid and Pleasant were taken in our hometown of Los Angeles back in the 70s... Next weekend, Kid returns to his former stomping ground to make more music.

This evening will also boast an electrifying electronic dance set by the inimitable New York Night Train artist KID CONGO POWERS of The Cramps/Gun Club/Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds fame with multifarious friend, musician (D-Generation, The Blessed, Danzig, Illuminoids, Intoxica Radio DJ) Howie Pyro – Both consummate entertainers and legendary musicians who should require no introduction.

Stepping away, momentarily, from the usual rock band setup, solo cholo Kid will be man and man (Howie) men and machines ( MAC, KAOS and JUNO)... electronic beats and noise.. stories and static...Okay, and a guitar! Congo Pyro a Go Go! Also performing is Geneva Jacuzzi... DJ is none other than New York Night Train's Jonathan Toubin from New York Night Train fame!

"no more Elvis, Beatles or The Rolling Stones in 1977!"...but maybe some Kraftwerk! ...The Clash and Part time Kid
