TONIGHT in Los Angeles

Tonight in Los Angeles, at the Don't Knock the Rock Film Festival, a theatre-full of people will witness the premier of "Ghost on the Highway," the long-awaited documentary about the Gun Club and its founder, the late, Jeffrey Lee Pierce. After the screening of the film, Terry Graham, Ward Dotson, and Kid Congo Powers, will reunite as the Gun Club with various guest vocalists performing the songs Jeffrey wrote.

If that's not enough...There will be an on-going Photo Exhibit of the works of pioneering LA Punk Photographers (all women, including yours truly!) Theresa Kereakes, Jenny Lens & Dawn Wirth starting tonight at 7pm, and running each night of the film/music Festival which takes place at the
Red Cat Theatre
631 W. 2nd St.
Los Angeles, CA
The Red Cat is next to The Disney Hall...

The Festival runs Thurs.,June 29th to Monday July 3rd, 2006

Then if that wasn't enough, on Monday, July 3, we three photographers will part of a panel moderated by Michael Des Barres & festival founder Allison Anders. The panel will be at 2:30 - 3:30 pm at the Red Cat Theatre. The panel is FREE... so there's no excuse NOT to come. Cheer us on! Give us moral support.... OK, go ahead... make fun of us... but YOU are 30 years older too!

Here are a couple photos that you will see in my part of the exhibit:

MAJOR POST SCRIPT
This has nothing to do with tonight's festivities. This is a message of gravitas.
My old friend and former neighbor, Fear bassist, Derf Scratch was in a car accident about a month ago. He's gonna be able to predict the weather for the rest of his life as a result of all his broken bones... but in the meantime, before he can rake in the dough as a meteorologist predictor, he's got to pay medical bills that he quite simply does not have the money for... Can you help? You can donate to his Medical Relief Fund on a myspace page set up for that, OR if you're also short on funds, simply spread the word far and wide.

Thank you.
