Backstage at the Whisky --1978

Such was a typical night backstage at the Whisky A Go Go. Can't remember what show this was at - but normally, people went out and saw each other's bands, so anyone could have been playing. I'm guessing from Dave's duds that it was a Blasters show.

Hope you are rested up. This week is a great week for live music.

In Chicago, there's the Horizontal Action Blackout which will be three nights of mayhem and great rock n roll at the Empty Bottle. Click on the links for a run-down of bands. I'll be showing and selling some photos, too. See my flyer down below. All those images are available! I just printed them.

In NYC, there's The Saints, who are headlining the Joey Ramone Birthday show at Irving plaza on Thursday, and then headline their own gigs on Friday and Saturday. Saturday is super special. Their only show in Manhattan where they can play a full set. It's at the Ding Dong Lounge, and will surely sell out, so show up at 7 PM when doors open and stake your place at this show that is sure to be the show of the year in terms of punk rock. In fact, be a trooper and go see them at Maxwell's too! You know you want to.

In NYC on Sunday and Monday, it's Billy Idol, who's got a new album out, Devil's Playground. C'mon... you know he entertains the hell out of you! That's at the Beacon Theatre. I'm going!

After looking at Billy's face all night long in the darkroom, I can't wait to see him in the flesh. Someday next week, I will tell you all about Billy's first trip to Los Angeles and show you a whole bunch of photos, too.

Until then, rest up so you can rock the weekend just like we used to in 1978!
