Punk Is Attitude

This is Tommy Volume of the Star Spangles, an East Village punky pop-rock band. They've got the sound, the cred, the hipster mojo and a cool album produced by Ramones compatriot Daniel Rey.

The other night actually, I ran into Tommy when we were both out to see Daniel Rey's band, The Martinets play at the Lakeside Lounge.

Tommy and I were talking about this thing called "punk." And this young man, who might be 24 proclaimed with all the sage of an old krone (like me) that, "Punk isn't a style of music. Its an attitude."

And I think he's said the last word. At least for today.
